Is intermittent fasting good for women?

?? ???? ??? ???? ???? ??? ???? ????????? ?? ??? ???????? ?? ???????????? ???????…⁣

But when you dig deeper you will notice that the majority of the research has been done on men and NOT women. ⁣

Why? It becomes “complicated” to do research on women to get true results due to the fluctuations in hormones thought our cycle. ⁣

A woman’s reproductive function is intricately connected to her metabolic function, and vice versa. ⁣

So anytime a woman’s body gets a “starvation signal” from her environment (like not eating for a stretch of time or not feeling hungry in the mornings), it goes into protection mode.⁣

????? ???? ??????:⁣

- The body to hold onto weight (to survive)⁣

- Increases production of the hunger hormones ghrelin and leptin (you want to eat everything in sight)⁣

- Slows down non-essential functions like reproduction (your body’s focused on keeping you alive and won’t “waste” energy on fertility)⁣

The two other major aspects you need to take into consideration is that when this happens, your cortisol and thyroid take a hit as well, causing further complications in your body.⁣

There are ways to fast for women that won’t cause a major disruption in your system which I will cover next.⁣

But for now, don’t be a poopy pumpkin and cause unnecessary stress for your body.⁣
